Patient Safety - Important changes to the law have occurred. Are you up to speed?
Faculty: Veronica A. Richards, Esq., Rudy L. Massa, Esq., Joseph R. Froetschel, Esq., and Rosalind Kaplan, Esq.

Join Veronica Richards, Esq., Rudy Massa, Esq., and Joseph Froetschel, Esq. to learn about the importance of Reginelli and Act 112.

Reginelli allows us to peek behind the curtain known as “Peer Review.” Learn how Peer Review has threatened patient safety and how you can utilize Reginielli to affect results in your next MedMal case.

On October 24, 2018, Governor Wolf signed Act 112 – the Patient Test Result Information Act – which requires any entity conducting a diagnostic imaging service to directly notify the patient within 20 days if a significant abnormality exists. While the Department of Health has given providers one year to implement changes before issuing any fines or citations, facilities have been required to directly notify patients since the Act’s implementation on December 23, 2018. Our panel will discuss the effect of the Act on patient care and in malpractice lawsuits and invite participants to submit questions and ideas on how to incorporate the new law in cases and at trial.
