Governor Tom Wolf proposed a $34.1 billion budget in February, which were followed by hearings of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees with different state agencies through March. The constitutional deadline for the 2019-20 budget is June 30th.

Major policy discussions occurring in the Legislature this spring include a potential nuclear bailout bill, an increase to the minimum wage, and workforce development.

Under the theme of consumer safety in Pennsylvania, proactive efforts are underway to increase auto insurance minimums, increase nursing home staffing levels, provide benefits to workers who become physically scarred as a result of a workplace injury, and update cybersecurity laws.
